Men and Aromatherapy
January 27th, 2008
Aromatherapy isn’t just for women. Did you know that men are naturally drawn to certain scents?
See what reactions these aromas elicit from your guy: ylang-ylang, clove, cinnamon, mandarin, peppermint, black pepper, eucalyptus, rose geranium, cedarwood, and curry.
What was your guy’s favorite?

I don’t know what ylang-ylang is, but it sounds funny when I try to say it. Clove and cinnamon remind me of Christmas time. Mandarin and peppermint are fresh smells. I’ve never been much of a black pepper fan. Eucalyptus clears my sinuses. Rose and geranium are pleasant smells. Cedarwood and curry are earthy, and slightly arousing.

There’s a multitude of therapeutic uses for aromatherapy, and I’ve listed some in an earlier post, Benefits of Aromatherapy. Take a look, and if you have any other questions, post them here.

Patrick, I’ve recently read an interesting article about how aromatherapy is being combined with traditional medicine to treat cancer patients. Look for a future post on this.

I am drawn to strong food scents. Coffee in particular soothes me. Perhaps I am just a little strange.
